Is it just me or is weathershield way lighter in reality

So I did the unforgivable and ordered based on the colours on the tin in the shop without testing a sample.

I picked Olive Garden for the wall caps. In theory it should be a light/medium sludgy green. In reality it's a notch above white with a bit of light mint green mixed in.

Eventually got the colour I wanted with Wicklow Way.

Just me or are paints in general not well represented by the tin?

Exterior paints always show as at least two shades lighter when outside. This is just down to lighting and how it changes throughout the day. In the house or in the shop you're looking at a small sample in artificial light. It's just not the same. Never paint without sampling first in the places you're painting. Two or three coats, in a decent patch, at least A4 size.
