Intermittent odor

We had an issue whereby there was a foul odor in the back garden for a couple minutes after a shower or bath was taken. This was quite easy to live with since it would disappear in a couple minutes. However for the past few weeks the problem has been much worse because the smell happens several times a day, with no clear reason why.

We have a septic tank system. The slope and quality of the pipes going to the tank was looked at and seems ok. There are 2 soil vent pipes in place, both high enough that odors coming from them should be unnoticeable. I've check the pipes and water flow seems reasonably ok.

Septic tank was emptied within the last month. Problem got worse since then, though not directly after.

Are there any troubleshooting steps I can do to narrow down the problem? Thanks!
