Swapping tank fed to mains fed

    Hi all,

My washing machine is single cold fed and is situated 2 levels from the tanks which are in the loft space and the adjacent sink is similarly fed from the same tanks. The washer feed is from the sink's cold water pipe via a stopcock valve tap.

Water flow for the sink cold water seems to be ok, washer water not so good. Stop cock has been turned fully off and fully open many times, left on fully open position. Water flow comes out of the washer hose as well as the sink. However, when connected to the washer, the flow of water into the powder drawer seems to be not as good. I use Pods rather than self measured powder and i am having to use extra rinse every wash - sometimes having to run a non Pod wash a couple of times just for "rinsing" and clothes are not always properly rinsed.

Would swapping the plumbimg if at all feasible, from tank fed to mains fed be a solution? What would it involve?

Also, im looking to install instant electric showers in bathrooms where cold water supply is from the same tanks, one bathroom is on the same level as the washer is, other bathrooms are 1 level higher (ie level under the loft tanks) - is this a goer ?

Any advice etc welcomed. Cheers all
