For 1 year. This is for lifetime ownership for one person. Not like for like.

The question is whether it is a genuinely reduced retail version or "grey market"?

The Contact Us page gives a 404

    I'd be careful OP

A thing isn't what it says it is.

A thing is what it does.

Thanks all for the replies. I'll hold off and maybe try either use openoffice or just take the bullet and purchase directly from Microsoft.

Was thinking it sounded too good to be true!

What's the worst than can happen? Just give it a go or get a refund if it doesn't work out. Seems most people are questioning whether livingsocial is legit or not, rather than the actual deal.

It could be legit but you need to understand what is being offered. The term 'life time access' is somewhat misleading - you are buying a standalone app/programe for Windows 10 and is not to be confused with MS Office 365.

MS Office 365 is a monthly subscription service giving you the most up to date versions of office plus additional benefits. See MS website support article: Difference between MS Office 2019 & MS Office 365.

MS Office 2019 is sold as a one-time purchase, which means you pay a single, up-front cost to get Office apps for one computer. One-time purchases are available for both PCs and Macs. However, there are no upgrade options, which means if you plan to upgrade to the next major release, you'll have to buy it at full price.

MS Office 2019 is soon to be superseded by the 2022 version - so this may well be a reason for such pricing. Official mainstream support for MS Office 2019 (bug fixes, security updates etc) will end on 10/10/2023.

If you want free, Microsoft also offer Office Online which is similar to Googles Docs.

Office Online is a free version of Office that you can use in a web browser. All you need is to sign up for a Microsoft account with a new or existing email address.
