Just a short list of countries that didn’t exist when Mayo last won The All Ireland, so yeah, it's our turn.

    ^^

Was scrolling down there to report the post, but yeah, probably justified.

Hope Mayo win, but part of me loves watching them regroup year after year, setback after setback and going again. Incredible to see them there again with the players they've lost and are unavailable.

Be nice to see them do it in front of a full Croke Park mind....

Hope they win, if they don't then zero sympathy for them, you have to step up at some stage.

No issues with Mayo prior to this years championship but...Their manner of victory ie. cheating in the semifinals, no thanks... I couldn’t in good conscience be wanting that rewarded.... wouldn’t want kids watching that up and down the country and beyond and believing it’s in anyway a fair pathway to success...Tyrone all the way..

I think Mayo will win by 2 though.

i genuinely hope McQuillan is going to have a good day... he’ll need eyes in the back of his head and plenty of support from his colleagues...I’d say if it pans out the way I’m thinking..he’ll need to be fairly swift going to his pocket too..

hopefully football is the winner, and Tyrone obviously but if I’d have to throw a few bob on anybody it is on Mayo...

Mayo reaching AI finals and losing them is one of life's constants, a source of comfort in an uncertain world.

I'm only half joking, when they do manage to win one it may be an anti climax. The supporters come back with optimism year after year and it's always more exciting when they are involved in the later stages of the championship. This may well diminish if they get over the line

Yesterday the Tyrone goals were cleverly executed, Mayo got a penalty and didn't even get a point from it. This is the sort of thing that usually happens to Mayo. Over the years Mayo have been known for kicking wides and for having divisive and quirky figures in the setup. Liam McHale, John Maughan, the lad yesterday with the pink boots, lads with ponytails or bleached hair, Ciaran McDonald, Aidan O'Shea, Lee Keegan trying and failing to put someone off by throwing his GPS. Sob stories too, the supporters are still, 25 years later on about Colm Coyle's bounced point or how Pat McEnaney shafted them.

Tyrone claim that everyone hates them, their supporters can be obnoxious but I suspect that a lot of neutrals do have an admiration for the team and county, similar to Meath in the 80s and 90s.

was really hoping Mayo would win but apparently they played crap - if so why? nerves? or wer Tyrone just better than them? Not a follower of football at all - but have some great friends from Mayo..

If they got and scored 10 penalties they’d still find a way to lose.

The curse is in their heads whether they admit it or not.

Why are Mayo afraid to stick the ball over the bar from outside the 20m line? Thats the last 3 finals they had shooting chances all day, yet tried to work it further in. The Arsenal of GAA, always trying to walk the ball in over the bar.

with a few notable exceptions, over many years, they lack the basic ability to kick the ball properly. Some days, when things are running for them, they look as though they could plant the football into a golfball sized target. However when under pressure, lack of technique comes back to haunt them. They are not bottlers - if anything they over achieve given their limitations. Excellent at pressurising the opposition, particularly at kickouts, and handpassing from defence to attack. Unfortunately they start to run out of ideas, and with a lack of confidence in their kicking, it looks as though they are doing an Arsenal.
