Leaving Cert 2021: Impact of standardisation on accredited grades

4 of my daughter's grades were reduced by circa 4% but this reduction also impacted on grades and ultimately points.

For example, in higher level maths, the school awarded 83%, standardisation reduced it to 79% so 12 points less.

This happened in 4 subjects = 48 points which means she didn't get the course she wanted.

It's just cruel to see the 2 grades side by side - this is what the the school thought of you based on continuous assessments etc but actually we can't give you that.

Appeals process will only check for clerical errors etc.

How did your daughter do in the actual exams? (Clearly not as well as the school thought she would do, otherwise there would be no issue.)
