So what you people reckon is the best place for afternoon tea in the City

    The Shelbourne ,

    The Westin

    The Merrion

Have to bring someone as a treat and can't decide which ,

Never been myself but thought the Westbury was the No 1 in dublin. The mother went before and enjoyed it, was pricy though but I guess they all are...

The Gresham does it for about €20-25.

I'll second the merrion if you have even a passing interest in art.

Did the Westin a couple of years ago. There was no atmosphere I thought at all - was quite dull in the room (upstairs in the atrium I think) and so quiet. Maybe it was a slow day.

Had it in the Ivy last year. Was nice because had cocktail at the bar first. It's not stuffy at all.

Nice atmosphere ,great service and the food was lovely

It'll be back to the Shelbourne for our next one in December just because its a family tradition at Christmas but i certainly recommend the Westbury ,
