Suggestion needed for home heating control improvements

Hi, i was hoping to get some advice on the best approach on improving the efficiency of my heating system. Currently everything is manual on/off switches and there is no smart controls by any means.

I have an oil fired central heating system together with a stove (back boiler). the system was plumbed using a single coil cylinder. I want to avoid changing cylinder etc if possible. Currently there is a manual on/off/timer timeclock for the oil. In the hot press, i have a switch to control a motorised valve to enable/disable heating of radiators. i dont see a valve for hot water.. I thought the room thermostat would control the motorised valve which would in turn switch on/off the boiler. but it seems like the room thermostat is not working as even when set to 10degC boiler stays on. is this due to the valve having a manual switch to switch on/off that thermostat is not in use? I have no thermostat / valve for the hot water cylinder.

For the stove side, i have a pipe stat controlling a pump when i have the fire lighting to send the hot water to the radiators. Unfortunately the pipes to the stove get hot when using oil, as no non return valves are in place. This in turn triggers the pump to come on (i have an isolator switch in the hot press to turn the pump off at least).

Basically what i would like is to be able to remotely control the boiler on/off, via phone also having room thermostat working. some control over hot water would be great too.

is this possible with back boiler connected also? I guess when fire is lighting i would need to ensure valve to radiators stays open etc to prevent spiking.

I have no TRVs on the radiators. is there any issue with fitting these on the radiators when using stove?

i see there are wifi enabled relays (e.g. Shelly) that can be fitted behind switches so I could look at fitting those at my timeclock maybe? I am monitoring room temperatures so could have the relay switch once a certain temperature has been met? That is if Nest, Netatmo, EPH etc arent suitable.

    thanks
