Bit confused how this works , set it off and it creates groupings of channels.

    What observed:

Freesat as provider misses channels such as music channel.

    Sky UK creates a ton.

Is there a way to create u're own bousquets/groupings, where you define the list of channels in each grouping but also get the benefit of having these auto update when frequencies change ? Or how do people use this

    I'm interested in this too.

Also, if you set up autobouquets for both Freesat and Sky, and then make your own favourites from the channels in those bouquets, do the channels in your favourites also update when frequencies change?

I think the answer is no from what I've seen , so you either get :

Nice organized list of your favorites which cant deal with frequency changes OR

The ABM method where frequencies update but the bousquets are quite messy- the FreeSAT one for example is missing music so you need to use Sky UK also the listings in them are not layed out very well.

I could be wrong but I think there maybe unencrypted music channels on Astra 28.2 that are not technically "Freesat" so they do not appear under the free sat list.

On my setup, I have all FreeSat channels listed under one bouquet, not sure if there is music there but can check later.

E-Channelizer is great piece of Software for editing, hiding & creating Bouquets. I have used that in the past and set ABM not to update regularly, as frequency changes I find are very few and far between - you could do a clean up every 6/12 months or look at it if you notice a channel not working.

There is always a way with these boxes but ABM's are no longer important since sky went as the updates are so few and far between its not needed only for the initial setup.

To set up your own like a pro you need to use E-channelizer version 20 but the free version will have bits missing. It will keep you engaged for ages. its here

JD what music bit is missing? I checked mine and it has music ie spotlight tv.

There is no need for additional software. Enigma boxes have an editor built in. See here https://www.boards.ie/discussion/comment/117739386#Comment_117739386 for an example of it's use.

Personally I never saw a need for ABM. It is very rare for a major channel to move and the odd minor channel changes can easily be fixed. If a channel does move, a quick check on KingofSat will show the new settings.

Thanks Gerry, I remember my old sat boxes 10 years ago. Frequency changes used drive me crazy , but I don't like the way ABM lays out the channels , so I think I'll switch it off. Also like to have ability to blend Irish and UK channels.

Been using the web console also but I actually find the boxes (ATV 6.4) itself is easy too , if you press the menu button when on channel and can move it to another bousquets , delete it and Move it around.

Using the remote on the box itself is grand for 1 or 2 changes. For someone wanting to build a new bouquet or rearrange a lot of stuff WEBIF is handier IMO

If using the WEBIF how do you know if channels are valid though ?

On box I can go into the sky UK bousquets and move the channel to my own bousquets, so any channel I move then works - don't see this option on WEBIF, can only drag them from BSkyB channel list into my bousquets. The issue I have with that is when I do that , lot of the channels I drag over are incorrect. For example I drag over CNBC on WEBIF but was then a black screen when I looked at it on box.
