Patio Drainage

    Hi all

In the middle of the new pati,o I'm planning two l-shaped floating benches. There'll be a 1.5m gap between the two so you can walk up and down the patio.

I think the rain might collect at the base of these walls so I was wondering if I should put the drain across the middle, in front of these walls - as you look from left to right in the picture; rather than at the end. Any view would be welcome.

    Thank you.

Drill a couple or three drain holes at the base of each wall.

It all depends on your falls and your confidence in maintaining them while laying the slabs.

Don't forget that the more drains, the more clogging. Will you have access to unclog them?

Do mean through the walls? These will be floating benches so I’d rather keep structure intact and the look if I could.

    what do you think?

    thanks for reply.

As confident as a man who’s never done it before. The groundwork is being done by a professional - I’m laying the tiles

presuming I make a reasonable job of it - what bearing would it have?

Yes will have access - a sump box for the slot drain which will go into waste drainage pipe. But I take your point.

    thanks for reply.
