All inclusive holidays

Hoping to get away for 6 or 7 nights in late sept or early oct with my gf. Spain, Portugal, Greece the most likely options.

We had the idea of going on an all inclusive deal as the break will be short and we've never done it before but is worth it? where would anyone recommend? I'm fine with the idea but worried I'd get bored of the same food\place and miss out on better places to eat\drink. Ideally we could find a massive resort with loads of activities and restaurants\bars!

Also is alcohol usually included in the pricing for these or can it be without it? The reason i ask that although I'm looking forward to a few beers it would really just be a few so would be pointless for me

Majorca is nice. It depends which option you gotta for. Hotels can be bed and breakfast, half board(which includes breakfast and your evening meal, full board(which includes all meals) or all inclusive(which includes all meals and drinks). Depending on the hotel you may have a choice of which ones of these you want to go with or the hotel will force you to be one or the other. I like all inclusive but sometimes you might want to get out of the resort for w change of scene. I think H10 is a good group. They’re a Spanish company so are mainly based in spain(mainland and the islands).

Yes, local beer/wine/spirits is usually included in the AI package - it should detail it on the booking site.

It's hard to say whether you'd get bored of the food, if it's the cheapest of the cheap holiday deal I'd guess you might get bored but I can't say I'd be inclined to go with such a deal. It may be worth doing the maths on what the different options would cost. The AI option may help you stick to a budget if that's important but I'd hate to be fully restricted to a hotel complex which would then deprive a town/village of some much needed tourism income.

I'm struggling to remember but I can only think of one AI holiday we had which was the Marmaris Park Hotel near Icmeler (not actually that close to Marmaris thankfully) in Turkey. Not overly cheap but I would say a good value for money deal at the time. It was really good, food changed up every night, one meal in the non-buffet restaurant which was spectacular. We'd have a quiet drink or two after dinner and then go for our evening stroll along the water front up to the town (maybe 15-20 mins) for a nose about, drink etc. (came home with a bloody engagement ring and all now that I think of it).

Another option would be to do a cruise and get the drinks package. That would be very similar to all inclusive but you get to see a new port pretty much each day. However, I know that it wouldn’t be every ones cup of tea(especially during a pandemic). Congratulations on your engagement, theteal.

    Thanks for responses.

Cruise probably a no go right now, just going to keep it simple and in the EU. In terms of pricing obviously lower cost is great but we'd prob mid tier as opposed to cheap as possible.

Did some more research and havent been able to see anything in Europe that really catches my eye but some huge carribean resorts look great, maybe next year!
