Hi guys, have moved into a new house, patio door lever was a bit stiff and required some manouvering in order to get the door locked. It snapped this morning and now i can't lock the door. Is it possible to replace the lever or is it a bigger job needed. I took handles off but how do i remove the black lever to replace. All advise welcome!!

There is a little bolt on the top of the lever (the one that isn't broken) - I presume if you unscrew that, the handle should come off.

If you can take lever off, reverse it so lever is on inside.

Put handle back on and lock door from inside.

    Exit through other door.

    Temporary

oh yeah good idea, would mean i'd at least be able to lock the door, as it is at the minute i can't even turn the key. Is it a small allen key needed to take lever off?

it looks like it, yes - the only way to find out is to try it.

Did you try greasing the locking mechanism?

Had a look at mine just now as I've been wanting to tighten it up a tad as it's a bit "floppy". So, yes, it's a tiny allen key, smaller than anything I have in my collection anyway unfortunately.

ok guys, i was able to remove the lever with a small allen ket. But i can't lift it up or down and can't turn the key. It looks to me like the part of the lock in pic is jammed

Needs to be in closed state to function. The lower white pin in the pic needs to be pushed in (simulating a closed door) for the top screw to move vertically with your thumb lock, thus engaging to a locked position against the plate on the door frame.
