TV Wall Mount

    Hi,

I'm in the process of refurbishing my home office, and want to mount my 34" wide monitor to the wall and free um some space on the desk. The monitor weights 8kg and have a wall mount I was to use somewhere else that can hold up to 20kg, so in those regards I'm covered.

My problem is the wall I intend to mount doesn't have any studs... and before someone suggests it, this is the only part of the wall I can use, and have a 48cm surface from the window corner to the wall on the right (see picture).

The mount has a 6cm x 17cm mount base that should be fixed on brick wall or onto a stud, but was thinking I could get a metal plate, around the width of the wall (48cm) and have the mount welded into it. Then I would fix that metal plate into the drywall with 6 or 8 bolts (my Picasso skills aren't great, but you see the idea on the picture below). Mount will be mostly at 180 degrees (see second picture).

Will that work and the drywall will hold it? What would be the risks? And last, where could I get this metal plate made and welded to the TV mount (Dublin area)?
