A couple of climbs before the end mark this one as a stage for the fast guys who can climb. The specialist sprinters should be dropped by the end anyway. Matthews is a favourite but after yesterdays wasted effort it's hard to see his team being able to work as hard so soon again so I think the break may take this. Someone like Calmejane or Simmons maybe, an opportunity for the teams that haven't really had a great race so far. Of course the break was supposed to win yesterday so...

It seems like Matthews is the favourite on nearly every stage so far this year... but today might actually be the day that he wins! He should try to get into the breakaway

Insane again today, breakaway forms. Starts looking good but no, somebody gets on the front to drive the pace in the peloton.

Eight riders are one minute up the road as they start the first climb.

Nelson Oliveira (Movistar) is very close to needing new bib shorts (because of the crash)

Even allowing for Carlton's ability to get hysterical about any finish, that was a great finale!

Delighted for Magnus Cort after being mugged at the finish yesterday.

Yeah, but that 'tache has to go. He's like a peroxided Ned Flanders cosplay
