Gully for Rainwater Harvesting system

has anyone put in a rainwater harvesting system recently? what sort of gullies did you put in to collect the rainwater from downpipes? I'm having an argument with builder about using bottle gullies but he's never used them and he just wants to go with standard universal gully with 45 degree neck. Or did any posters here…
