Texel Throat

    Is Texel Throat a common problem. Have many of you lost rams or ewes from this disorder ? Years ago I heard there were breathing issues with Beltex and Dutch Texel but was not aware until recently that it was a problem with Texels .

    Lost a Belclare with it.

    Had him cured and out of withdrawal and he got it again. Nothing worked second time round. Died after a few days.

    Lost a ewe few years ago with it


    Have a lamb with it now this year,gonna put him in freezer and not even treat it



    Im suprised the texel society arent doing more to eradicate it,like the ISDS demand testing for collie-eye for breeding and have massively reduced its occurance
