Help with public transport options to Mizen Head that will take bicycles

Planning on cycling from Mizen to Malin starting Saturday Sept 4th.

The air coach from Dublin to Cork takes bicycles. Any suggestions from Cork to Goleen/Mizen head?

Bus eireann 237 goes from Cork->Skibbereen->Goleen but not clear whether it takes bicycles.

    Any suggestions or recommendations?

Sorry OP I wish I could help you more, this site is a lot quieter since the so-called upgrade.

Perhaps you would get a better answer on reddit on the Ireland sub.

Bus Eireann will take your bikes so you can get to Goleen and cycle out to Mizen which is about 10kms.

Just did the opposite to you (Malin to Mizen, first 2 weeks of August). McGinley coaches Dublin to Carndonagh, so presumably also Carndonagh-Dublin.

Bus Eireann Goleen to Cork (so presumably vice versa). GoBus Cork to Dublin (...).

We took pedals off, for ease of handling, but otherwise did nothing special and had zero hassles.

Thanks all. We've booked the train to Cork and then Bus Eireann to Goleen. We'll try McGinley on the way home.

How did it go brownian? Any tips?
