Shower mixer leaking

Our old shower mixer started leaking at the cold water supply side where the mixer head attaches to the water supply coming out of the wall. I replaced the shower mixer but the leak persists. one drop every minute. The threads seem ok but at a loss here as to what it could be, any advice appreciated.

When you say you replaced the shower mixer what exactly did you replace?

The mixer is the cartridge on the hot side. It's the spindle on the cold side needs replacing

There should be a fibre washer in there or rubber gasket depending on model. Have you checked both sides have that

@Sleeper12 I replaced the whole unit in the picture and @listermint yes, there are rubber gaskets in both the hot and cold supply. Tightened both sides but still getting drips out of cold supply.

The bar mixer wasn't the problem so, it was the connection to it, which has now possibly corroded due to the small leak and so will be harder to seal up.

This is why it is often cheaper in the long run to get a tradesman in. You could have saved yourself the price of the bar mixer.

Getting a tradesman in is part of the problem. Availability is very scarce so was a risk worth taking in replacing the mixer head. The threads on the wall fixings looked ok, no sign of corrosion or damage that I could see.

You could try adding a 2nd washer. Failing that you might have to bite the bullet & get a plumber. Most likely not a big job for him & probably just a call out fee
