Today I tried to add another car to my existing classic car policy with a well known classic car and bike insurer.
The car in question dates from 1991 and is Japanese totally original with no modifications, but they refused to cover it as the don't consider is a classic?,in fact they stated it was just an old car.
Anybody else encountered this, and what did you do?
I called another insurer,I'm still waiting for a call back,I wont hold my breath.
Feeling quite disappointed really,as a lot of time, effort and money has gone into recommissioning this.
Sorted, none of the popular insurance company's wanted to know.
Got a policy from a broker in the north no problem at all.
What car is it?
Sorry to be a buzzkill, that broker in the north, is he registered or allowed to insure cars on both sides of the border? As far as I know the Northern Ireland protocol only covers goods not services.
Was one of the first things I checked.
If its the NI broker I use, then all policies are issued through Allianz Ireland.
What's the story with keeping the name of the NI broker a secret?
One of my cars is 1989 and has classic tax and garage insurance.
It’s abbey autoline
Thanks for that. The thread read like a " those whom shall not be named". Nothing wrong with a company who provides a good service getting some publicity.
Do they provide legally required insurance disc?
