Land Registry house transfer times

Another family member and I inherited a house on the death of a relative last year.

In February this year, we instructed our solicitor that we wanted it transfered into our joint names, and filled out the relevant documentation he provided us with.

Over the past few months, I've been looking for updates. All he says is that he's checked with the Land Registry, and it's still maked "awaiting attention".

Is it normal (or at least normal during these times) for a house transfer to still be ongoing after 6 months? How long can we expect this to continue? A few months ago, he was saying he expected it to be wrapped up in a couple of weeks, but he's not saying how long he expects it to take now.
