Car for scrappage

Have a 2008 Kia Ceed which has run into trouble. Mechanic has said it could be 1K to fix up minimum.

Looking at cars ireland it is worth about 3,000 if all was working but that's obviously not the case.

So wondering can I get anything for this on scrappage?

If I bought a new car, it would be second hand only

Dealers don't really need to offer scrappage deals on used cars at present because what used stock they can get their hands on is flying out the door due to post Brexit. Realistically these scrappage offers on used cars were generally just another name for discount and the asking price tends to be fat to allow for the generous "scrappage" value anyway. In other words your old end of life car with a scrapyard value of about €100 doesn't suddenly become worth 1k to a dealer.
