All-Inclusive Family Holidays in Europe

    Hi,

Has anyone done any family all inclusive holidays in resorts in Europe that they'd recommend? We're trying to work out if it's worth our while doing that next year with the kids (3 of them).

We've done all inclusive in the Caribbean twice before (once on honeymoon and another family holiday with kids) and loved it- there was great choice among restaurants and we never felt confined to the resort.

We're just wondering how different it is in Europe, there seems to be less choice of restaurants on site (one buffet mostly ,which doesn't sound appealing). We're trying to factor in costs of flights and accommodation and then spending at least €100-€150 per day to see which would be better all round.

    Many thanks!

In my experience the standard isn't as high as the Caribbean but I couple I've stayed in that I would return to are The Seabank in Malta and Dreams Gran Tagoro in Lanzarote.

Requirements for us would be close to a town, high quality wifi, kids club, good activities on site (playground, kids pool etc) and at least 2 good restaurants. I liked both of these as they have the option of suites as opposed to rooms so you have the facilities of a hotel but the space of self catering.

I'd agree with Xalot re: quality versus the Caribbean.

We've done quite a few all inclusive in Mexico and the only one that has come close in Europe for us was the Sunset beach resort in Bulgaria and even at that it was a very poor 2nd compared to Mexico.

I've heard that Turkish 5* all inclusive resorts are close? But have yet to visit one.

We ve done good few all incl in Caribbean and Turkey and Egypt. Did Punta Cana this May and it was fab, really loved it (look at direct flights from Paris). Turkey can be really really good, depending how much you spend. Egypt is overall not as good but we always enjoyed snorkelling so much - it outweighed the lesser quality of food. I always wanted to go to Club Med, suppose to be amazing for kids. Not sure which resorts they have in Europe. Generally Europe doesn’t have as many all incl options. Your next step could be looking into cruises as you can get drink packages to make it all incl and other amenities would be just like all incl resort.

In my experience, the Hilton Dalaman Sarigerme wasn’t far off a Mexican AI.
