Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Is Jesus in Heaven?

I recently watched the film "Philomena", at one point when Philomena confronted Sister Hildegard (RIP), the Sister said "the only one who can judge me is the Lord Jesus Christ in Heaven".

Since Jesus "IS" God (ie, God in the flesh on Earth) then why would Jesus as an individual be in Heaven?

When Jesus ascended into Heaven, is here there now just like any other person? Or did His body cease to exist in the flesh once he reached Heaven and his body reincorporated back into God the Father?

I would have read that as saying that the nun was emphasising that Jesus was in Heaven, if he were not then the whole thing falls apart. No-one's flesh goes to Heaven anyway, the body is in the grave, the soul goes to Heaven. In Jesus' case He was made flesh/made human in order to be on earth, on his death the body was no longer relevant, who knows what happened to it but it ceased to exist on earth.

Its a while since I engaged in theological discussion so I may be missing something, but that would be my take on it 🙂
