Can anyone tell me where to go to get info about this?
I have been asked to find out it's worth in the hope of selling it but honestly haven't a clue.
Some sort of head wear?
Very hard to say from the photographs.
Stylistically I would say probably Indian and leaning towards the regions closer to N.East as there is a bit of a Tibetan look about it.
Add a picture of the bottom and the inside id possible, it might be a 19th Century spice box or something like that. COuld be a 'prayer wheel' if the bottom has a small rod-hole piercing on the underside.
Difficult to gauge the size and material , but I am assuming it is copper (and brass?) judging from the ropetwist ornament on the top
Thanks..here are more pics.
Thanks ! MAybe a picture of the underneath and the interior would solve it for us. size? looks about as tall as a pint glass, is it ?
It's Indian-looking engraving on the shoulder of that vessel. But it has a Buddhist influence to it - could be a prayer scroll holder
