    Hi all,

Traveling to Malaga at the end of August and wondering how bad are the delays coming in with DCC and Locator forms?

When it comes to airport transfers, should we be looking to try book them an hour after flight is scheduled to arrive?

I arrived... No delays. Can't say there won't be delays for you, but they had 3 or 4 staff making sure people had their barcodes ready, and after that about 4 manned lanes where they scanned your barcode... All before the regular immigration check where you flash your passport.

    Passenger locator form needed right?

Obviously haven't been yet but from what I've seen online that yeah the Spanish locator form is nearly more important than the DCC

Yes.. spth ..use the app. You can upload your eu dcc when completing the spth form, that's why you only need to show the spth barcode on arrival.

Flew out last Saturday week to Malaga, no delays in Dublin and no delays arriving in Malaga. Well organised and when we arrived to get our bags they were already there.

Going back was a different kettle of fish. Huge Ryanair queue, we arrived at airport at 9.10 for 12 noon flight. Every flight went through the same group of desks, not country or destination specific. Would be great if Malaga airport got the automatic machines like Dublin airport.

Security scanners were ok, not too bad.

Real issue came at Passport control, left food area with 55 mins to go to flight time for area B. Couldn't believe the queue.

The automatic passport machines were all not used and only had 4 officers checking passports. UK and Ireland put through together. Number of flights all due to depart within 20 mins of each other. Dublin flight was next off and a number of us were moved to near top of the queue, as we were there people from Leeds flight came bursting through, they were told go to the top of the queue even though there flight was after ours. Lots of confusion.

We got through security at 12 so I'm thinking gate B01, first gate great, nope, a very long walk, 2 flights of stairs, short walk, another flight of stairs and then a bus. Flight took off at 12.30. Few empty rows, not sure everybody got through.

I don't remember ever in Malaga having to go that distance from passport control, 1st lesson. We also learned that Spanish Security personnel were trying to make a point, they had been on strike earlier in the week apparently. If doing it again I'd probably give it an extra hour again.

Just one other comment, Ryanair were very good sending regular mails saying what you need, with regards locator forms, etc.

Thanks for this! Just wondering with arriving early, are check in desks for luggage not open until two hours before the flight anyway meaning arriving before then a bit redundant? Or open earlier when you visited? Thanks again!
