Attic Conversion - Wicklow Council Planning

    Hi all,

I live in a terraced house and I am looking to get the attic converted into another room although it will not be listed as a bedroom. The work will be completed by a reputable company who will provide the required building certifications upon completion.

The only external change will be 3 Velux windows to the back of the property.

I'm trying to ascertain as to whether this is an exempted development for Wicklow County Council? Having looked at their site this doesn't seem clear, the word attic doesn't even feature.

I will probably end up submitting this query to the council but I'd appreciate any feedback if anyone has had a similar request.

    Many thanks!

AFAIK windows to the rear are exempt so long as the roofline isn't changed. There are loads of examples of this in Charlesland alone.
