Anyone ever see any three wheel bikes or cars in the country anywhere?

    Well Anyone?

Something like the one on this video.

    I have.

I know someone who drives one mostly in the winter. It's more a bike than a car. I am surprised there is not more of them on the roads. These could be the perfect solution to our overcrowded roads. What do you people think?

I seen a few this year that were converted motorbikes with 2 wheels on the back axle. Don't think I've ever seen a factory 3 wheeler around

Pity there aren't more Polaris Slingshot in the country. You'd probably need a special blessing from the Minister for transport to insure it though

For a country that is so concerned about Climate change, it's quite strange how we are not open to allowing more of these fairly low impact, low carbon vehicles on our roads, even if it was just cities.

    What do you people think?

Think it'd need a bike license, and car insurance :pac:

I've seen a few trikes around, most recently a Rewaco RF1.

The whole climate change policy thing here is a money spinner, the government will only throw their weight behind it if it causes more money to change hands. Buy an electric car, buy a €25,000 heating system for your house, this kind of sh1t. They're trying to keep two-wheelers off the road even though they'll massively reduce congestion, they've dilly dallied for ages on feed in tarriffs for solar panels (and I believe possibly gone over the deadline set by d'EU)

Nope. They are essentially a bike with a cap on them. There is no steering wheel in them they have handlebars and are driven like a bike.

Why itvwould need car insurance I do not know. Why not just big bike insurance?

Historically there was a brief fad for 3 wheelers in the uk and "bubblecars" here, 3 wheeler scooter/truck things are popular in Italy don't think that many got imported here.

I think it's the mainly rural nature of this country and state of the roads over the decades makes small three wheeled things impractical for many people.

It appears that if you passed your B test prior to 19 January 2013, you are covered to drive anything with 3 wheels. After that date, you must have the appropiate A license to drive them.

The bikes with two wheels at the front require an A licence. Something about a minimum distance between the two wheels disqualifies them from being classed as a tricycle.

    Anyone remember the Quasar?

Saw one three wheeled car and the fourth wheel about 50meters ahead of the car.

All eyes on Kursk. Slava Ukraini.

A friend has a trike based on a Smart Car platform. 3 Cylinder Merc engine. It's in storage at the minute. I'll have to look in the archives for a pic from 3 or 4 yrs ago.

    Quasar was a two-wheeler.

In Cavan there was a great fire / Judge McCarthy was sent to inquire / It would be a shame / If the nuns were to blame / So it had to be caused by a wire.
