Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Urgent test date - time

    hi,

like many people I have been driven demented with the wait time for a driving test. I am going to apply for an urgent test date as according to the government guidelines I am an essential worker and I now genuinely do need my own car for work.

Does anyone have any idea of the approximate wait time for an urgent test date? I can't seem to get any information anywhere.

at this stage I am willing to consider any test centre anywhere in the country.

    Many thanks

No idea, could be 6 months wait in Dublin, or 1 month rurally. The RSA website isn't very helpful either.

I'd suggest applying ASAP if you are an essential worker. Leaving it a few days is only delaying your test date (enormous back logs)

    Hi OP

Have you all your EDT lessons done and are they uploaded to the RSA portal? (your driving instructor would have done this for you).

If so, you can request an urgent test by filling out this form:

    https://rsa.powerappsportals.com/urgent-test-request/

It depends on the test centre but for me it took 2 weeks to get a date in Carrick on Shannon. Some people are saying 4 weeks to get one in the Dublin test centres, it just depends.

When you get the invitation to book, you are given a link to go through and you can actually see dates and times available in all test centres so you can pick which one you want which is great (as some times are busier than others of course).

Also if you are on Facebook, this page is very useful as there are always people posting about passing/failing/where they got marked etc. People also put up how long they were waiting to get an invitation

Thanks so much for the information. I actually came back to post that I applied for an urgent test last night and got an email today inviting me to book a date!! I had so much choice of test centres and times which surprised me (makes you wonder what's going on with this 'backlog' but that's another story :P )

I will check out that Facebook group, thanks. I think I'm a good driver but struggle terribly with nerves so hopefully that group will give some helpful tips.

Ludicrous. I applied 3 weeks ago still waiting back. Backlog exists for some!
