Neighbour shouting defamatory statements over the fence

    Strange situation, living next door to neighbour for about five years. Neighbour starting shouting significant defamatory statements over the fence which upset my other half significantly. What's the best remedy, gardai, solicitor? There is no talking to this one...need to nip this in the bud asap. Any advice appreciated.
