Android tablet recommendation

Hi

I'm looking for a new android tablet and I'm not sure what's good these days. I previously had a Samsung Galaxy Tab A - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07919MP9M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1, which suited perfect, but after 3 years of use it's getting very slow and unusable.

My budget is around 300, so any recommendations would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

I'd give the existing tablet a really thorough go through first. Clean/back up/delete as appropriate. Can you fit a bigger capacity memory card?

I'm using an Amazon Fire HD 10" tablet which should be well within your budget. With a bit of work (installing Google Playstore) it's really good.

I'm also in the market for a tablet.. a smallish one though (7/8ish inch) to replace my Google Nexus 7.

Are the fire tablets restricted in anyway or is it easy to install the google play store and other apps using it?
