Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi

My dad is driving 30+ years and is looking to now obtain a licence for a truck, so he has the option to drive it for work? Whats the procedure in terms of doing theory tests, lessons etc?

Does he have any truck categories on his present licence, ie C1 or C1E.

I'm not sure, I think it's just B for cars, but I'll ask him, Does having those categories make it easier to obtain a truck licence?

Alot of older drivers automatically were given the C1 truck categories when they first got their license. Doing 5 cpc modules and applying to get back into professional driving will allow him to drive a truck under 7.5 tonne.

If looking for the bigger C licence for articulate and bigger trucks will require alot more training, lessons and theory including 5 cpc modules.

I was told recently someone trying to obtain a lorry licence now can have to pay between 4 to 6000 euros when all training required is done.
