NI resident, flying into/out of Dublin

Hi, hoping to fly out of Dublin mid August but finding it difficult to confirm what is required of us as fully vaccinated (with digital proof) residents of NI. Aside from the requirements of the country we are flying to, are there any Dublin specific requirements other than our vaccination proof needed for the outward journey and likewise, on our return into Dublin, is proof of vaccine sufficient before our onward journey back to Belfast? Thanks in advance.

I spent a lot of time yesterday on this subject, your N.I. digital cert is fully compatable with the EU one. So you need nothing else going out or returning from Dublin.

My friends, have paper proof but not digital, flying tomorrow got a pcr test just in case

Your normal passport and HSC Digital Certificate should suffice in Ireland, however you need to check your destination country for what's needed there.

Digital certificate simply means the paper thing with the QR code on it. There's confusion about it being held digitally.

If you download the HSC COVID Cert NI app, you can hold it on your phone. You just scan the QR code with your phone and your details will populate on the app.

Irish EU Greenpass certs issued by the HSE / Department of Health are basically the exact same. You download the HSE COVID app and scan the QR code.

Was your friend fine with the NI vaccine proof only or did they need to use the PCR test?

I am due to fly to Spain from Dublin at the end of August.

It says for Spain I need the Locator Form. + certificiate (which I have from my NI vaccine) - So it sounds like I do not need any tests?

    Below is taken from https://www.dfa.ie/travel/travel-advice/a-z-list-of-countries/spain/

All passengers arriving in Spain (mainland as well as Canary and Balearic Islands) from Ireland and other risk countries must:

Submit a completed Locator Form. This form can be completed on-line via the Spain Travel Health website or app.
Hold a certificate or document confirming that they are vaccinated against COVID-19 or have recovered from COVID-19 or have a negative/not-detected result of a diagnostic test.

Also wondering this as I am going to Portugal in a few weeks. I was vaccinated in the north so have the ni cert, I live in the south and will be travelling to and and from Dublin. As far as I can tell the covidcertni app with the 2 certs/qr codes should be sufficient. A sibling of mine has been travelling Europe for a few weeks now, he has the paper cert from the north and its been enough for him for travel and indoor dining.

I only got my covidcertni today and wasn't expecting the 2 certs/qr codes, assumed there would be one.

Yes. I think you'd also have to quarentine when you got to Portugal or Spain. Its vaccine or negative test or recovery cert.

Just came back into Dublin from Portugal on Saturday. At the minute, while some countries accept the NI or UK HSC COVIDCert, Portugal do not accept it as it's not the EU version. We had to get a PCR test no more than 72 hrs before arrival in Portugal and that's what they asked to see on arrival at the airport in Lisbon. However the pubs and restaurants happily accept the HSC COVIDCert as proof of vaccination which is a requirement for indoor dining at weekends only. On return back to Dublin, no test required and HSC COVIDCert is acceptable. It took about 50mins to get through passport control on arrival in Lisbon but I think a few flights probably arrived at the same time. Passenger Locator Forms required both ways. Obviously rules are subject to change but this is our recent experience. Have a fantastic time, we did!!!
