Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Income protection reviews from Utmostw

I have been disabled for 8 years. My employer paid an Income protection policy for me with Utmost and I’ve been receiving payments on that policy through payroll since.

every year there is a medical review and every year it’s a nightmare for mo to get reports. Each year the reports say it’s a lifelong illness and return to work not possible.

ive asked HR how long this is likely to continue and they say it is up to the insurers policy. HR won’t show me as they say the contract is between them and insurer. They only offer me the same limited details that get issued to new hires.

I read that in the UK it is common for Income protection to not be reviewed after 5 years. Is there such a policy here?

It's all down to the individual policy documents. And as you aren't a party to the contact, no-one's obliged to give you those details.

Medical Reviews can go on Forever up to the insurance company unfortunately

Just resend them a copy of the same report you gave them last year, as it is lifelong and incurable, and tell them if they want an update you authorize them to contact the Specialists directly details provided. Then they have to pay to get the reports.

Who are Utmost? I've never heard of them in the Irish PHI Market.

Reviews on PHI claims are standard.

They offered one of my consultants €85 to write a report. Seems a bit on the low side. He sent them an invoice for a different sum. Waiting to see what happens. Painful process

    sorry for dragging this up

the review finalised 6 weeks ago (after over 2 years). They have not written to start another review.
it looks like there is a situation whereby I’m near permanently in review now.
    Utmost used to be Generali
