Wood effect floor tiles advice please

Hi we have an open plan kitchen and living room which has a laminate floor. It served us well but not the best of ideas in a kitchen area.

We plan to replace with a wood effect tile but I am not familiar with these. Any advice? Don't want anything too shiny

We put these down in our apartment living room. Look like wood and not shiny. Guests have been fooled!

I will just say what we did, tiled the kitchen area, natual ash wood floor living area.

Because of layout (presses) there was only about 1.5 meter which has regular door saddle.

Basically the saddle made-up from one of the ash boards so made to order on-site to suit needs.

Think they were about €18 per m2.

We were considering them for our hall and kitchen last year but our tiler said that he no longer does them because they always crack. I've since heard from someone who had them done by another tiler that theirs have cracked.

Haven't heard that. No issues here after a year. Why would they crack any more often than other tiles?

I'd 2nd this. I have it too. Took up old tiles to fit it. Very happy. Looks just like a wooden floor

Because of the length of them. You need to have a perfectly level surface to lay them on. I know tilers use leveling compound but it's just something to be aware of if you're considering them.

There should be absolutely no reason for them to be cracking if they're laid properly with an even amount of adhesive and no voids. Any I've worked with were 8 to 10mm thick porcelain and it would take a serious slap to crack them.
