Trying to access Fifa 21 online on a, Switch

Hello Trying to get online on Fifa 21 on a Switch. Logged into Nintendo account but says 'the account can't get online' Do I need to setup an EA account externaly and link it to the Switch account?I can't do this on the Switch Or do I need a paid Switch membership? Thanks

I get the error when trying to get online on Fifa, no issue with the Switch account
