I found a bike at a rack I was walking by a closed shop dublin area. bike is like new mens bike good nick looks like it was stolen or else owner forgot to lock it left at bike rack I used the metal chain on the bike to lock it to bike rack

I used a basic 1 euro lock to lock the chain to rack

    So what do I do,

Do I bring to to the local garda

Station so the owner can get it back

    I. Ll leave a note taped on the rack

With my phone no on it please ring this no or ring the Garda station to get your bike back

Every month there's old bikes left on a road in dublin

Eg usually cos wheels or brakes gears are broken

This bike is in good condition

    Gears brakes look fine

    Left standing against bike rack

Last time I checked the lost property office for Gardai is in finglas

I knew a bloke every week he d go to shop go home and forget to lock his car doors at least once I intend to go to garda Station at 10am tommorow

I'm just tired now i hope bike is OK for 9 hours til morning

Ring the local Garda station tell them the story and ask them if you should bring it down.

Looks like it could be someone far too relaxed who left it there or maybe someone stole it for a trip.

Bring it to your nearest cop shop.In 366 days it's yours if no one enquires about it

I, ll bring it to the Garda station at 10 am in the morning tomorrow

I'll tape note to the rack with my phone no on it, eg phone me or go to the Garda station and collect your bike,

    Thanks for the advice
