Do i need a letter stating that I'm a Essential worker for driving test?

I'm on the waiting list since January and as of now i can apply for an urgent test as a essential worker and wondering if anyone who has done a test in the last few months needed to bring a letter to the test confirming the fact

My pal wasn't asked the couple of times he did it. But they probably could ask in theory

My daughter took her test today and passed, (yay!). It was her third attempt. When she failed first 2 times, she reapplied immediately (silly errors).

Anyway, she got a date back in Feb., but they cancelled it at very short notice. No word at all about rescheduling or what the situation was.

She got an mail about a month ago finally saying she's on the list, but if she was essenttial worker she could apply. She works in food service, so she didn't feel bad about saying yes.

She was offered a date a few weeks out, but there was no mention at all during the test about the essential designation.

As it happened, she had a note from work from the start of the pandemic if it was needed, but wasn't looked for at any stage.

It seems the system is operated on good faith.

Give it another few weeks, I think you only get put on the essential driver waiting list once the 12 lessons are complete and you fill in the waiting list form rather than when you booked the actual test.

You should be alright without proof, I know lots of people who wouldn't strictly be classed as essential yet they were never asked for proof etc.

If you think about it there's no way to check or enforce any of this - How can someone in NLDS decide if your job is essential/you are actually working at all? They're hardly paying additional staff to check and even then how could they? Apart from the 12 lessons which is documentable. My daughter got a test within a few weeks of applying. I suspect this is open to abuse and wouldn't advocate that but there will be plenty who will.

Yeah it looking that way, I'm going to give it a few weeks as I'm not that stuck for it, i just want to get it over with. I'll see is there any new announcements in the next 2-3 weeks.

They were suppose to be developing an app with a prediction of how long the wait would be but that was back in April, Thanks for you feed back

From what I hear, they are not asking 99% of the time but I'm sure if the tester was being supervised they'd ask. Think they are mostly taking you on your word.

yeah i work two jobs and both are deemed essential, I'm going to wait a couple of weeks to see what happens
