Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Involuntary statements etc

What happens when a suspect is genuinely coerced into making admissions in a so called "voluntary interview under cation"?

The interview is recorded at the garda station.

The suspect is threatened (wont even go into how) before he even gets to the garda station, again in the public area of the garda station, and again when the interview is suspended (a detective left to fetch water for the suspect)

The suspect is not aware the interview is voluntary until the interview starts but is afraid to stop it because of the threats.

Two years later the book of evidence is served on the suspect and he sees alot of lies and cover ups on behalf of the gardai, but the suspects admissions make them all look true....

If that suspect fights the admissions in court and explains what really happened, does the suspect have any chance in hell against the garda in front of the gardai....

The suspects solicitor says the judges are all pro-gardai.

Sorry for the confusion but just take it as the truth when considering your answers...... and im also sorry the suspect comes off a little slow, but the events are very complicated and it is not as clear cut as it seems. But this scenario is the bones of it.
