Star Trek V Directors Cut on the way ?

Just noticed that the first 4 theatrical movies will be released in 4K shortly. While that’s great news, got me wondering what the story is with Final Frontier and Undiscovered Country.

Shatner has asked Paramount for years to go back and finish the movie including the SFX but the studio has always declined.

Is it possible Paramount are finally working on a new Directors Cut of Final Frontier and does that explain why it’s only the first 4 movies being released at this stage in 4K?

Regardless of whether you like the movie or not, the production values and photography are decent enough, it’s the shoddy SFX that really drags the film down. It would be fitting if Paramount do for Shatner what they did for Robert Wise when he got to go back and finish his edit of Star Trek The Motion Picture.

Anyway, am I reading to much into this, or is that why it’s only the first 4 movies getting the 4K releases at this time?

Good point. Hopefully that is why it is only the first 4 outt first. It would be cool to see Star Trek The Final Frontier the way it was intended to be.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

Galactic barrier, center of the Galaxy. Neither of which happened or did not happen. From a family of scientists who harvest fission from binary friends. Playing with a beetlejuice soon 😜😜 here or somewhere.. Here-ish

New Trek may or may not make use of such.

    Such as mentioned are anomalies..

My point being, they go against Trek cannon.

Honestly most Trek fans don't care about cannon. Unless it's summit really nonsense like those stupid JJ movies. Archer and borg was cringe.

The trek fan will watch regardless of giant holes. Majority will spot the plot holes and inconsistent narrative. What about it!!

A minority will whinge and moan and "aaahhhhh its not trek".

The same cohort that got SG universe cancelled. Was not the ratings, changed only a few points. Was the online communitys reaction to it. The people that don't like something speak the loudest.

TNG and DS9 first two serious; 3 episodes each I can think of I would watch without read the synopsis. But both were not cancelled. Finding themselves. Not sure now if this is private msg or public

Fuk it if is public. I wanna read my own rant, I hope

Thats my theory for discovery above anyway 😜
