Is there anything similar you’d recommend that can be bought in a general garden centre?

I got a bag of 10 10 20 last week from a rural hardware store. Only came in 50kg bags though so have more than I'll ever need.

Hmmm ye a 50kg bag is probably a bit much alright

I'd be intetested in the same thing,,,even before the hot spell started, patches of grass in the lawn were not doing well...poor growth and yellowish color.

What part of south county Dublin?

You also need to be careful how much you put on the ground, otherwise you will have a nice field of sileage.

Grass wont grow much in this heat, its natural defence mechanism is to to go dormant.

Its too hot and sunny to put down fertiliser, it could scorch the grass.

Wait for the weather to cool down and rain.

Late August early September is a good time to fertilise as the grass will be growing better then.

Sorry for posting in an old thread.

I bought a bag of 10-10-20 from Whites in Lusk 4/5 years ago. I don't seem to find it on their website now. Where else in Dublin I can get it. It would be handy if somewhere around the Blanchardstown area.

is there any other fertiliser which is better than 10-10-20 or I should stick to 10-10-20? Its a small garden, c.100 Sq M.

I'm sure they'll have it, probably just not up on the website, maybe related to the ongoing fertiliser issue. Give them a call?

I called them and they only have in 50KG bag. I can share it with a neighbour i guess.

Any ideas how much should be using for a 110 square meters lawn? Found some info online saying I should use about 4Kgs.

Also I guess lawn should be dry when spreading?

    Thanks!

You'd use half that amount. Grass dry but ground damp, with rain expected, is the ideal.

Thanks... I was sure 4kg sounded too much.
