    Hi folks,

got caught with this today. Text from anpost number that I’ve received valid texts from before. Failed attempted delivery and asked for 1.75 charge to rearrange for a future date. We are away and I’d ordered something so thought it was legit. Entered Revolut details and got a confirmation of new delivery date. All looked legit anpost website. Few minutes later Revolut was hit for 300 pounds charge for something. Then a charge for air bnb and a google play charge. I had no funds on the card so just cancelled it.

no major harm done just had to order a new card and reset up some payments.

One to watch for. They obviously were able to spoof anposts text number. Should have suspected as I’ve never been charged for redelivery before .

Hope it helps someone else avoid it

    cheers,

    mick

change "AnPost" to DHL, DPD GLS, Royal Mail, LaPoste, USPS, UPS, Fedex etc etc

Unless you 100% know its 100% genuine, don't click.

and none of these services charge to deliver on another date.

What I found interesting about this one was I’d texts from anpost re previous deliveries and this came from the same number. Was still dumb not to twig it but combined with coincidence of being away and due a package fell for it.

SS7 is from the 70s. It's got no security features.

I could write my return address as Leinster house and send you a letter. That's how easy this spoofing is. Thank baby jaysus you didn't use a visa debit from your current account.
