Had always wanted a Caad10 or Caad9. If anything out there in 54 ideally or 52 at a stretch, I'd be interested in having a look.

    Cheers.

Rare enough they come up for sale. Never really sold well here because of the aluminium-high RRP combo overlapping with cheaper carbon frames of the day IMO. Well worth it if you can find one though. I picked up a used 58 2011 Caad10 frameset in 2017 on adverts. Bit tatty but built it up as a worry-free race rig for the open racing hustle/winter training/everyday commuter with some mudguards, fantastic to ride. Have put about 40,000km on it since. If I found a cleaner frameset I'd buy it in a flash.

Would also love one but they are impossible to find now. A frame for the generations for sure.

I've a Caad10 52. Perfect condition. Rival groupset and brand new Shimano wheelset. Very few miles on it which is reflected in condition. Been parked up for a few years which is a waste for this bike.

Would need to ask around €1k for it tho. Let me know if that's budget friendly and I'll get some pics to you.

Another Caad owner here who wont sell. It's such a great bike. Good luck with your search

A bit of a longshot but I sold a mint condition (literally delivery miles only) CAAD 10 52cm on adverts just over a year ago. It was listed on and off for over a year and didn't get near the valuations listed here and at the time I had to accept a lower than hoped for offer.

You could try messaging the guy who bought it from to see if he would be interested in parting with it. The link to the original ad is below

you won't be able to message him if i understand how adverts works, he's no ads active, and you need to have an offer accepted by him before you can PM him.

Would there be much difference in the 10 and the 12? I also have my eye on one of these but the 12 seems to pop up more regularly

The 12 has all internal cable routing. I think the 10 stayed external for its lifespan other than changing to an internal rear brake for one of the later model years. The 12 is BB30A to the 10s BB30. Very minor changes to geometry. Probably some tube profiling and carbon layup on the fork etc. I remember reading a long time ago that the 12 was slightly more compliant, or less raw, than the 10 but I've never ridden a 12 to compare. I would (and will) also buy a good clean well priced 12 frameset in a heartbeat when I find the right one. Also a weapon of a frame.

Am I a fanboy, probably, one of the sister bikes in the stable is a 2016 SuperSix hi-mod. It's nice having the same geometry on the summer bike and the one that does all the winter miles.

my 10 has internal routing for rear brake, but external for everything else. It is also DI2 compatible, with internal DI2 wiring holes.

I spotted this on one of the Cannondale Facebook groups.

Looks like he posts internationally too but the import tax might be a killer. Looks beautiful when fully built up

There is a 52 CAAD9 frame and fork on lfgss the last few days if you know anyone in London who could help out. ~£250

Does a CAAD 12 have direct mount or dual pivot brakes?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,938 ✭✭✭Plastik

    Doesn't have direct mount.

Have this caad9 available but there is a snag...seat post is rightly seized, several attempts by 2 different mechanics and myself have failed. Its a 10 speed ultegra groupset and a SLK carbon crankset. Fulrum racing 5 four wheelset. The frame feels a bit big for me , have used it over last 3 winters, never let me down. But trying to cut out anything that may be contributing to back issues. My other bikes are definitely 54's but just feel this maybe 56cm ?

Because of seatpost not expecting a whole lot . Had put a figure of €350 to €400 , to one of the mechanics if he knew anyone who was looking for a starter bike.

Cheers, but got sorted with the offer from Jayjbe, so maybe someone else on here might be interested.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,036 ✭✭✭secman

Cheers 👍sure I'll see if anyone interested in it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 841 ✭✭✭nicksnikita

Potentially interested in this. Offer €320 to open discussion and access more details and pics.

    Thanks, Nicholas

What height is it seized at? Centre of crank to top of saddle?

And is it 54 or 56?

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,036 ✭✭✭secman

Can't get back to you on that till Friday, that bike is in Wexford at the moment and I'm not unfortunately 😃

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,036 ✭✭✭secman

Top of saddle to middle of crank is set at 71 cm .

This lad has copped on a bit from his 2 grand "buy it or shove it up your arse cos I'm not bovverd" ad. A flurry of price drops later and it's starting to look like a nice bike at 1250. :)
