AppleTV on public WiFi

I’m living in a building with shared WiFi. so in my room I can’t use my AppleTV because they don’t work on public WiFi. If bought a WiFi booster and set it up with a password, when I connect the AppleTV to the booster will it think it is on a private WiFi?
