I have a 15 year old helping me with gardening / fence painting etc. What is reasonable to pay him for a days work - cash.
If he's doing a full 8 hours then I'd say around 80 would be appropriate.
Cash or no cash its high risk
He is just helping me out. I'm not a business
Minimum wage for under 18s is €7.14 per hour. How many hours work are they doing?
Risk of what?
When I used to babysit as a teenager I'd get €10 an hour and that was back in 2007-2010, so it could be more now.
Higher than minimum wage ?? Hardly , €40 / €50 I would of said is fair if doing 8 hours
Being sued if he hurts himself for instance, Some would be just looking for an opportunity
I'd say slightly higher.....€60 a day??? & if the lad gets stuck in/ a grafter maybe an extra €20/ €30 at the end of the work
So lower than minimum wage then ??? (assuming 8 hour days)
Somewhere between 50-60 minimum, If he's being worked to the bone 8 hours a day like any other adult laborer then double it.
There u have it op e100 euro a day minimum for a 15 year old! It's the Celtic tiger part deux!
E50 a day is loads, hard for teens to get work nowadays
Plenty of young lads go working with family or friends of family doing full weeks during the summer as a laborer and get paid 100+ a day, not uncommon at all 🤨 If you're doing the same hard graft 5 days a week I don't see why it matters if you're 15, 25 or 45.
