Thinking of buying TP power line extenders with WiFi capability. Probably AV 1300 or higher. Son has older tp power line 600 for Xbox (no wifi). If he plugs in his receiver unit to the higher speed one! Will the speed on all extenders drop?

As long as the router is handing the DHCP it will work perfectly!

    Yes.

The speed on all of the adapters will drop to the slowest on the network.
