Installing Dishwasher in Fitted Kitchen

    Hi,

I'm not really sure where this post should go so please let me know if there's a better forum for it.

I have a fitted kitchen and want to take out one of the cabinets and put a slimline dishwasher in. As far as I'm aware the house was previously plumbed for a dishwasher and I can see that the cold water connection is there and I'm nearly sure there's a specific outflow pipe for it.

What I'm wondering is whether I will have to get two separate tradesmen in or is there such a thing as a plumber who will be able to take the cabinet out too and make the whole thing look nice and neat? The base board may need to be cut and ideally turned into a sort of a surround for the dishwasher so that the big gap looks a bit nicer.

Anyone have any ideas of costs too?

No a plumber won't do this, but if the plumbing is there you shouldn't need a plumber at all really. A kitchen fitter or carpenter would make short work of sorting out the opening. Some kitchen fitters would install the appliance too, if the required services (plumbing/electrical) are there.

Ok great, I'll start emailing some kitchen fitters and see what they say. Thanks!

Shop where you buy the dishwasher might have a contact list for installer/handymen who could do it.
Maybe get one to look at space before purchasing if you are unsure of positioning.
