Hi, we want to order a replacement for our nasty aluminium door. The size of the 'visible' part of the frame is 915mm x 2100mm
Is this the size i quote for the replacement, or do i add on extra to allow for setting into opening and concreting in?

So I assume you are replacing door and frame. Your measurements will be grand for pricing but agree that selected supplier should measure and take responsibility. Also assume they will be making good all around etc so will really need to see it.

Definitely agree that the supplier measures.

That’d be ideal, but they’re a looong ways away…I don’t and won’t want to make a song and dance if things aren’t ,perfect, but would like to spec it as good as possible. So in the general run of things, should I add an extra inch all round?
    Thanks

    Choose a supplier nearer.

Different suppliers have slightly different measuring techniques.
Some measure reveal to reveal and add 5-6mm. This allows for a minimum
bit of cover behind each reveal.

Some make the frame the size reveal to reveal, and cover with a bead of silicon,
    after foaming in the frame.

A few actually measure reveal to reveal, and add another 5 mm each side for good cover,
    but its trickier to fit.

If your chosen supplier is a long way away, offer to pay for the quote, refundable on the order
    might be an option.

    Nope.

You could chip into your render to find the hidden edge and then you would have the exact demensions of the existing frame.

As others have advised, supplier should measure.
