    Hi all,
On the way home from work this evening and I saw a 2016 car with what I thought was a bit of a dodgy plate.
    It's reg was like 161 D 6xxxx.
    Is this genuine?
I thought that since the new plates came in, in 2013, that they generally only got to about 45000 each 6 months in Dublin.

Didn't think that they ever hit 60,000 registrations in a 6 month peroid - particularly back in 2016.

It’s probably a recent import. I imported one last year and it was 161D57xxx

Couple of minutes messing around on Cartell show that 161-d goes up to around 62700

Thanks for the replies. Just never realised that over 60000 vehicles were registered in 6 months in one county - let alone in the first 6 months of 2016.

Because there weren't 60,000 vehicles registered in 6 months in one county in 2016.

Probably as you said it was more likely around 45 thousand, and remaining are imports which were registered in Ireland at later dates.
