    Guy's being pretty dramatic. Any device will have to be able to operate at 230v +/- 10% (ie. down to 207). The stuff he's talking about wouldn't cause a drop anything like that big. You should unfurl reels, but more because it risks the reel going on fire with a consistent 2800w load

    Anyway, for garden work I suggest a shower-proof extension like this or this.
