I want t replace manual radiator valves with TRV's.
Any idea of how much this will cost?
I plan to buy the TRV valves myself but I am opened to suggestions.

Are you fitting them yourself too? If you're getting a plumber to fit them you should check if cheaper for the plumber to get them, not only would there probably be a trade discount but there would also be 9.5% less VAT (13.5% bought and fitted as a service by a plumber vs 23% if bought by yourself for a plumber to fit).

I am looking to have TRV's installed by a plumber.
Yes, it is a good idea to have TRV's bought by the plumber, but I am looking to install good quality ones and this is not something that you change every day.

Every trade counter has a cheap trv that some plumbers buy. Long term you are better off going for the better quality one & they shouldn't cost you a fortune. For me Danfoss are a great quality trv. They actually sell the trv head from valves they made 30 years ago. Available in Heatmerchants. There are other good brands that your plumber might suggest. Just don't go for bargain basement ones

Find the ones you want and tell your plumber you want those.

If you want to be extra sure then make it easy for ask them what supplier they use ring the supplier and check stock/order them in, telling them who your plumber is and they'll be picking them up (tell the plumber this too).

Danfoss are my pick of the litter personally. I am sure others have their favorites but i have installed them for over 10 years and in my own house and never a bother with them.
